The Catalburun is one of the rarest and most unique dog breeds in the world and finds its origin in Turkey. What makes this dog particularly interesting and recognizable is its unusual double-barreled nose - a feature observed in only a few dog breeds in the world.

It is believed that the Catalburun developed this particular nose due to intensive inbreeding in the Mersin region of Turkey. Despite its unusual appearance, it has been valued as a hunting dog in its native region for centuries. Thanks to its distinctive nose, the Catalburun has an exceptionally good sense of smell, which makes it an excellent tracking dog, especially when hunting wild animals.

In addition to its double-barreled nose, the Catalburun is medium-sized with a muscular build and a short, smooth coat that can come in a variety of colors. Despite his fearless nature when hunting, he is a loving and loyal companion at home. His intelligence and willingness to learn make him an excellent training partner.

The Catalburun population is small, mainly concentrated in Turkey, and efforts are underway to save the breed from extinction. Its rare genetic makeup makes it an interesting subject of study for geneticists and biologists.
