What are the breed characteristics of the Combai?
The most distinctive feature of the Indian Bearhound is the so-called eel line. This is a narrow, usually darker line along the backbone of the animals. In the Kombat the eel line is black in most cases. The head is elongated and wears a black mask. The ears are large and drooping.
Appearance and coat of the Combais
The coat of these dogs is short and has no undercoat. It is rather hard and absolutely easy to maintain. You will only have to brush these four-legged friends occasionally, which these dogs always enjoy very much.
The Combais are light reddish or brown. It has a heavy and robust build, but is still very nimble and agile. The tail is carried vertically and bends over the body in very confident quadrupeds. In case of fear or unpleasant situations, the tail is pulled in between the hind legs.
How big does the Combai grow?
The Combai grows to an average size of about 50 cm to 55 cm. Females are usually somewhat smaller than males.
How much does a Combai weigh?
The Indian Bear Dog reaches a weight of about 30 kg when fully grown. Bitches usually weigh only about 25 kg.
