The origin of the Yorkiepoo?

If you want to buy a Yorkiepoo, you are looking for a hybrid dog that was first bred in the USA as a so-called designer dog. Even if this breed has not yet been recognised as such by any club, it is an approved breed nonetheless. Yorkiepoo breeders, like conventional breeders, have to strive to meet certain standards and they don't choose their breeding dogs randomly.

Yorkiepoos are bred from crossing Yorkshire Terriers and Toy Poodles. Yorkiepoo breeders only use Toy Poodles or so-called Miniature Poodles in these mating scenarios.

What are the breed characteristics of a Yorkiepoo?

One reason for breeding these hybrid dogs is that they are considered hypoallergenic. They don't shed a lot, have little to no dandruff and therefore are less likely to trigger allergies. Compared to the poodle, which is also a hypoallergenic dog, the Yorkiepoo has a much smoother coat.

What are the typical character traits of the Yorkiepoo?

These dogs are very loving, small dogs that adapt perfectly and can also be kept in small apartments without any problems. They are considered very intelligent and are able to learn quickly. The Yorkiepoo puppies are also excellent for first-time dog owners, suitable as family dogs or as a dog for elderly people. Nevertheless, there is a good amount of energy in these little four-legged friends. If you want to buy a Yorkiepoo, you should keep in mind that this is not just a lap dog or handbag dog. Yorkiepoos are proper dogs who love to go for walks regularly, while at the same time enjoying a cuddle on the sofa.

What are typical diseases of the Yorkiepoo?

Generally, this hybrid breed is considered to be very healthy. However, they can suffer from elbow dysplasia or even patella dislocations. With these dogs especially, as all small breeds, special attention must be paid to their dental care.

What should be considered when breeding Yorkiepoos?

Above all, not just any person should breed dogs randomly, but leave this to experienced breeders only. When breeding small breeds, however, it is essential that the mother animal must always be larger than the male dog. Breeding should always be done under veterinary supervision. Especially with small breeds, problems arise during childbirth and Caesarean sections are regularly performed.

Buying a Yorkiepoo puppy
